Frenzied Bidding Wars & New Price Records

The good news for Seattle-area homebuyers is the number of homes newly listed for sale increased to nearly 6,300, a 50 percent increase over February.

That should mean more options for buyers, but it doesn’t because pending sales shot up even more to 6,350. The result is continued tight inventory with the median sales price for single-family homes in King County hitting nearly $600,000 last month, a 13-percent increase over March 2016, according to a report that the Northwest Multiple Listing Service issued Thursday.
