Seattle-area home values posted their largest annual increase in August since the housing bust, according to a new report.
“In the prior months we were closer to being just flat for the year,” Zillow Chief Economist Stan Humphries said Wednesday. “We are decently up off of our trough level now.”
Home values in the King, Pierce and Snohomish counties hit bottom in January, down 33 percent from the peak. They’ve gone up 3.2 percent since then, rising faster than Humphries had predicted.
